Pedro Matos (Santarém, 1989) lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal. His work has been presented in solo exhibitions at Eduardo Secci Contemporary (Florence), Galeria Presença (Oporto), Underdogs Gallery (Lisbon), Bid Project (Milan), Miguel Justino Contemporary Art (Lisbon), Martha Otero Gallery (Los Angeles), Ivory & Black (London) and White Walls (San Francisco). His work has also been included in group exhibitions at the Huset for Kunst og Design (Denmark), Fifi Projects (Monterrey), Camara Muncipal do Porto (Oporto), Museu do Côa (Vila Nova de Foz Côa), Mini Galerie (Amsterdam), National Army Museum (London), The Goss Michael Foundation (Dallas), Galeria Boavista (Lisbon), The Dot Project (London), University of Arizona Museum of Art (Arizona), Phillips de Pury (London), among others.
Pedro's background in contemporary art was expanded with his education at the Faculdade Nacional de Belas Artes de Lisboa in Lisbon, ArCo Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual in Lisbon and Central Saint Martins - University of the Arts in London. In parallel to his own practice, Matos has curated exhibitions, contributed as a guest editor in several publications and is a co-founder of Aujourd'hui - a Lisbon based independent editorial and curatorial platform that promotes and supports contemporary art practices.
